Rich in history, southern hospitality and natural beauty,
Livingston County offers both residents and visitors endless opportunities. The county's 219,085 acres, or about 342 square
miles, contain more navigable inland waterways than any county in the United States. Kentucky Lake, Lake Barkley, and the
Cumberland, Ohio and Tennessee Rivers form its boundaries. The community of slightly over 9,000 persons is proud of its
preservation of historic buildings and sites, including Fort Smith, a Civil War battlefield located on the campus of
       Livingston Central High School.
